![]() ![]() There are other important reasons, like security & privacy, to move to Linux, and you can "dress up" the desktop environment with themes, icons & fonts to mimic a look that seems similar to what you're used to. Also, there's nothing yet on the Linux side with the elegance, ease-of-use, efficiency, thoughtfulness & features of the macOS Finder. They may be the cleverest left-brainers around, but you'd never think of getting a tattoo from them.Īs far as the presentation layer - font rendering, icons, window drawing, the synthesis of interface elements - it's just butt-ugly on the Linux side, IMO, and a stretch from what you're accustomed to. But as you know, when it comes to Windows and Linux, the right side of the brain of those people is not up to par. From the perspective of a longtime Mac user & creative professional, I can probably correctly assume that the aesthetics side of your personal computing experience is a key factor in your decision making. ![]()
